Abdulai AwuduThe President

Abdulai Awudu is the General Manager of the Adom Brands at the Multimedia Group Limited, bringing nearly 30 years of experience in the media and communications industry. Over the course of his distinguished career, he has held several leadership positions including Head of Radio & TV Production at Film Africa Ghana, Deputy Creative Director at Target Saatchi & Saatchi Ghana, Head of Production and Programming at Television Africa, and Programmes Director and General Manager at MultiTV. Through these roles, he has developed deep expertise in film, radio, and television production and programming, as well as marketing, advertising, and media management — experience he now brings to bear as he assumes the role of President of the Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association (GIBA).
A multi-award-winning creative, Mr. Awudu’s body of work — spanning short films, television commercials, music videos, and documentaries—has earned both local and international recognition. He has led numerous creative teams in developing innovative television formats, sub-genres, and channels that have shaped and defined Ghana’s television landscape.
Mr. Awudu has also been a key architect in the establishment of several television stations. He was a founding member of Television Africa and played a pioneering role in launching MultiTV, Ghana’s first Direct-to-Home (DTH) satellite television platform under the Multimedia Group. He has also provided strategic consulting for the setup of Net 2 TV and Oman FM for Kencity Media Limited.
Mr. Awudu has served on several boards, including Film Africa, Television Africa, and the National Theatre of Ghana, as both an executive and non-executive member. He is currently the Chairperson of the Ghana Sector Skills Board for Media & Entertainment, and has served on the GIBA Executive Council since 2021.

He holds a Master of Arts in Media Management from the Ghana Institute of Journalism, as well as a Diploma and Bachelor of Fine Arts (Film Directing) from the University of Ghana’s National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI). Additionally, he holds an Executive Certificate in Marketing, Social and Organizational Research from Central University, and has received executive training from both BBC Media Leaders and Columbia University, New York.
